Hello, I’m Claudia, the person behind Crafts By Tesoro.
I live in Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, where I hand-paint every piece you see here. Alongside my full-time work as an Early Years professional, painting gives me time to slow down, be creative and make something with care.
Much of my inspiration comes from nature, particularly the colours, shapes and changing beauty of plants and flowers through the seasons. I love taking a simple wooden piece and turning it into something bright, personal and full of character. Every item is painted individually by hand, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
The name Tesoro has a very special meaning to me. It was a name my Mum always used for me expressing her care and love. In Spanish, tesoro means “treasure” and is often used as a term of affection for someone precious to you.
Choosing it as the name of my business felt right because it carries happy memories of my Mum and reflects the care that goes into everything I make. My hope is that each piece becomes a little treasure for someone else - whether it is given as a thoughtful gift, chosen to mark a special occasion or simply enjoyed at home.
